Kai Nagata video up tomorrow

I've been doing mostly background stuff today, but I finally have a good copy (well, as best as I can make it, given the quality of the video that I shot) ready of Kai Nagata's presentation at UVic last month about the present state of traditional television news. This will be broadcast at 10am PST Sunday on our UStream channel. My thanks to Kai for providing me with a copy of the video he used in the presentation to help cover up for my bad video capture!

Ask a mayoral candidate

I'm planning on getting video interviews and bio pages for all of the candidates in the November municipal elections (starting with mayoral candidates), and I'm looking for help on assembling a good set of questions to ask. Suggestions? What would you ask a mayoral candidate (in general or yours specifically)?

What's New Oct 5

I've filled in the remaining council and committee meetings throughout the CRD on the This Week In Politics page for this week. Look for some video content to show up either later today or tomorrow, with my first focus being the 5.5 hour(!) Saanich combined City Council/Committee of the Whole meeting last night.

What's New - Oct 4

I've started adding pages on the wiki for every council, committee, and board meeting in the CRD, which you can find on the This Week in Politics link off the left-hand menu of the wiki. For each meeting, there will be links to agendas and other documentation (when available) before the meeting, as well as links to the location and governing body pages of the wiki for each meeting.

Website Relaunch

Just a small note about the website. I've been reworking the infrastructure of this website the last few weeks, and gathering content to post over the coming days. Today I've added basic wiki pages for each municipality in the CRD. You can browse the wiki here. For each municipality, I've added a small blurb form Wikipedia and links to the municipal and police websites, as well as direct links to key pieces of municipal content; city council schedules, agendas and minutes, and annual reports.
